Its hard to come to terms with what has happened in Mumbai. I set out to write a poem for the innocent but I couldn’t. If only words could satisfy grief.
The Mumbai incident episode has been put to an end. But is it really the end or is it the end of a new beginning or the beginning of the end.
Failed to comprehend why it all happened. Failed to understand the motive.
Terrorists at least have an open agenda. The politicians are those who are the ones who have a hidden ulterior motive, a secret agenda. Who do we blame?
Our neighbours?
The politicians?
or
Us?
Why do I say that?
Because it is our fault. We as a generation are not just growing trend wise,economy wise but also increasingly becoming efficient in not putting terror to R.I.P but initiating every bit of it.
We choose the people.We choose the government. We have no right to crib. No right to complain. No right to point fingers at others when we ourselves are to be blamed.
We as citizens should realize for once that it us who define our country. No matter the atrocities and the hatred that we have built in among ourselves, we must realize that someone somewhere needs us irrespective of caste and religion.
61 years and we aren’t young. We should have learnt from our mistakes a long time ago.
Stop blaming and start playing.
Chess board set. The lines drawn. The players in position.
I, pledge today to do whatever it is that I can to help minimalize activities of vengeance, hatred and fear.
I am going to face it when its comes to me. I am ready.

I know Mumbaikars take their city more lovingly and the gr8 “mumbai” spirit that we hear about, I’d tell them its not Mumbai alone, but entire India that resonates with that.. Yeh hai Hindustan meri jaan.. “Sarfaroshi ki tamanna, aaj hamare dil me hai, dekhna hai zor kitna….”

These are profoundly disturbing images what I have been seeing for an Indian, especially the army out on an Indian street. We never see that here; it’s a matter of pride to all Indians that, even if we aren’t the richest country, we are a liberal democracy. I’m very rattled and very disturbed by the images – not just by what has happened, but by the symbolic significance of what has happened. It’s profoundly disturbing. Where is Raj Thakre?? Why did he allow north Indian NSG commandos to come to Mumbai? MNS should have fought the terrorists. These politicians are the biggest enemies, even bigger than the terrorists. No politician dies in terrorist attacks …because we provide them with X, Y and Z security Category.How do we believe all terrorist attacks were well planned and execution was brilliant except attack on parliament?? Does it mean something???At this emotional moment, I pay tribute to our Heroes in Uniform.Jai Hind!

these words from Sana Mirza inspired me to comment on the current turn of events. So here r few few thoughts of mine….The Mumbai massacre crushes my hearttime seems untruly altruistic,even a glimpse of the sight makes me sick.my heart oozes out with a turmoil of quests,envisaging the end of mankind;my mind un-rests.who has to be held responsible for??neighbors,us or politicians hiding back door.the bogyman is waiting to strike againits time for action and not complain.time to unite and stand as oneand differences among us remain none.let’s stuff this evil into a sackand bring peace and love back…may the heroes rest in peace!!!!Amen!!!!

thou it is really sad.. many innocent people died for nothing.. but one thing which im just struck me..was like everyone is saying mumbai…i know you people just faced it…we pakis have been facing it for so long…have been fighting against it…its not about indians or pakis it should about the whole humanity…every person dying in any nation or country it should be for him /her…we stood by you when it happened coz we know how it feels when hundreds of people die in such incidents…i mean how many of you like sana mirza wrote when such thing happened in pakistan ..none of you im sure… anyway.. yeah i fully condemn such acts by some filthy racist bastards… sympathies to all who lost their loved ones..peace!!!!

Pretty much ra. I totally agree with you. It’s totally time that we as citizens act up in the democracy. On one hand, those at the government level are reflective of us at the citizen level. Somehow we are ending up choosing them as the ones to rule us.And the way Mumbai is being touted as 9/11, is totally wrong. WE chaps have been seeing riots and violence of every kind from right during our Independence.
